United World Wrestling (UWW) recorded significant engagement via its digital and social media channels during the 2025 World Wrestling Championships (WCH25). The championships, held in Zagreb, Croatia (September 13-21), saw the governing body for Olympic wrestling increase its year-on-year (YoY) social-media engagement by 12 percent, surpassing 13.3 million engagements. The championships reached more than 6.1 million users via its social media channels and attracted 187,600 new social media followers.
“Having received record-breaking engagement via our social media channels during the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, surpassing 100 million engagements, UWW has capitalized on its digital growth during the past year, delivering standout engagement across all its channels during the 2025 World Wrestling Championships,” says Gordon Templeman, UWW’s Director of Commercial Operations and Communications. “Delivered with the support of N3XT Sports, our Global Digital Transformation Partner, UWW’s always-on strategy has helped generate standout audience growth via our social and paid platforms across UWW’s key markets.”
UWW was supported on the ground by the N3XT Sports team, which was tasked with real-time tracking and monitoring of all UWW channels across its UWW+ subscription streaming service, as well as its social media and paid media channels. N3XT Sports also helped leverage growth within UWW’s customer relationship management (CRM) platform, which demonstrated a 6.7 percent increase in customer lead generation and surpassed 230,000 subscriptions throughout WCH25.

Having launched its first dedicated CRM solution in collaboration with N3XT Sports in 2022, with a new focus on segmented content marketing, the event delivered revenue gains in UWW’s international markets, including Germany, Japan, Sweden, France, and Canada. Meanwhile, the US, Iran, India, Russia, and Kyrgyzstan were among WCH25’s leading markets for social-media engagement.
“UWW has experienced substantial audience and subscriber growth since implementing UWW+ within its digital strategy,” says Mounir Zok, N3XT Sports CEO. “With a robust CRM capability at the center of its efforts, the federation connects fans with the types of content they want via the platforms which they prefer. WCH25 is a glowing example of cross-platform marketing at its best and the distribution of video-streaming content to convert UWW’s global audience into loyal, paying customers via UWW+.”
